Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management

 

     From the very establishment of the Department for Geography, Tourism, and Hotel Management has invested a lot into its own development following up constantly the latest trends so that within more than 50 years of existence it has acquired the position among the well-known European scientific institutions and recognised after its scientific and educational achievements.

The educational process is carried out at undergraduate (basic) academic studies, master academic studies and doctoral studies. The following study programmes are organised:

 

Undergraduate (basic) academic studies

Doctoral academic studies

        Apart from the classroom lectures, a mandatory attending of field classes and professional practice make integral parts of studies based on which the students acquire practical experience necessary for their future jobs. The field classes and professional practice are carried out in the country and abroad. Students researchers are also attributed close attention through their inclusion into the Society of Young Researchers of Geography "Branislav Bukurov” and the branch of the European Geography Association ("EGEA”) for Students and Young Geographers in Novi Sad.

A large number of teaching staff members are involved in republic and provincial projects, as well as in international projects. Many research groups are active within the Department and their work also contributes to constant development and upgrading of the Department.

Professors and teaching assistant of the Department have participated at numerous scientific meetings. A large number of national scientific meetings, seminars and conferences, as well as those of international character have been organised at the Department.

           


Opportunities after graduation


      Numerous opportunities open up for students upon graduation. Depending on the module they completed they can find jobs easily in schools, at faculties, in scientific-research centres, hydro-meteorological or geodesy institutes, tourist organisations, tourist agencies, hotels, hostels, restaurants, hunting resorts, hunting associations, national parks, nature resorts, etc.
