Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental ProtectionThe Department for Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Protection was established in 1962. During its history that is more than half a century long it has become recognisable in the country and abroad after its students, scientists and accomplished results.
The need for educated experts in the fields of science in a contemporary society, science and technique is growing every day, with emerging priorities placed on chemistry, biochemistry and environmental protection. Chairs
The educational activity is carried out at the Department through all levels of higher education.
Undergraduate (basic) academic studies
Master academic studies
Specialised academic studies
Doctoral academic studies
Experimental, mainly independent exercises that provide students necessary routine of work in laboratories make a significant part of each course. The Department is well equipped with the basic, as well as capital equipment without which it is difficult to imagine modern way of laboratory work. This enables students to become experts in chemistry, biochemistry or environmental protection with quality education. Fundamental and applied researches in chemistry, biochemistry, environmental protection and similar disciplines are conducted at the Department. Scientific activity is carried out through numerous national and international projects. A large number of accredited laboratories contribute to better co-operation with industry and transfer of scientific results into practice. Opportunities after graduation
Various employment opportunities arise upon the completion of undergraduate/master academic studies depending on the completed study programme. The need for such profiles of experts is present in various chemical laboratories in all branches of industry, as well as in development, control, service, research laboratories, etc. Students may continue their personal upgrading within specialised and/or doctoral studies.
