IMETE is 2-year English-taught Erasmus Mundus Master Programme. It trains a new generation of environmental scientist, able to provide state-of-the-art environmental technology to tackle today’s global environmental pollution problems. IMETE promotes networking and exchange of knowledge between students and lecturers of different nationalities, with international mobility being an integral part of the programme. It is offered by 3 leading Higher Education Institutes - Ghent University (Belgium), UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education (The Netherlands), and Institute of Chemical Technology Prague (Czech Republic) - who jointly award the master degree, supported by associated partner institutes from all over the world. More information can be found on the website: www.imete.ugent.be .

A European scholarship student should not pay the tuition fee and additionally receives 500 euros per month to cover living costs (during 24 months). If the student conducts thesis research outside Europe (in cooperation with an associated partner) he/she additionally will receive an installment fee of 3000 euros to cover costs related to travel for the thesis work. A student from a window country should also not pay the tuition fee and additionally receives 1000 euros per month to cover living costs (during 24 months) as well as an installment fee of 8000 euros.

Applications for a scholarship can be submitted through the IMETE website (www.imete.ugent.be) until the deadline of February 8 (for the academic year 2013-2014). Students who have already a bachelor and/or master degree in a related field (biology, chemistry,…) can be selected for a scholarship. Students are selected on a competitive basis, but chances to obtain a scholarship are high for European students and students from the window countries. European students can arrange the requested language certificate still after their selection.

We are convinced that this is a good opportunity for students who want to study environmental technology in a very international environment. Therefore, we would like to ask you to distribute this message as soon as possible among students who may be interested in applying for an IMETE scholarship, specifically those from the countries mentioned in the list.
