The Amgen Scholars Programme

In this summer program up to 25 undergraduate students will have the opportunity to work for 10 weeks in laboratories at the life science campus Grosshadern-Martinsried. The students will be involved in hands-on research guided by leading scientists and their teams, using state-of-the-art methods and addressing the latest scientific topics. Possible research topics are within the fields of biochemistry, structural-, molecular-, cell- and developmental biology, cellular and organismic neurobiology, computational neuroscience, and physiological sciences. The opening retreat, the social group activities and the international composition of the participants will make this program a memorable experience.

Dear potential scholar,

The Amgen Scholars European Programme provides selected undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on research experience at some of Europe’s top educational institutions. Currently, three universities in Europe host the summer research programme, namely the LMU Munich, the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, and the University of Cambridge UK. Applications are now available, and I encourage you to go to if you’re interested in learning more.  Each European host university has its own application process, but the application deadline for all programmes is 01.Feb.2012.

One unique component of the programme is the chance to attend the European Symposium in Cambridge, where undergraduates get the opportunity to meet their fellow Amgen Scholars from across Europe, network with scientists and learn more about scientific careers in academia and industry.

Best regards
