3rd IRB Barcelona PhD Student Symposium

Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the 3rd IRB Barcelona PhD Student Symposium, a scientific meeting organized every two years by the student community at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Barcelona (IRB Barcelona). This third edition is entitled “The Clock of Life: cellular and molecular processes of development, ageing and disease” and will be held at La Pedrera in Barcelona on November 14-15, 2013.

The topics to be discussed during the Symposium will encompass those homeostatic or aberrant procedures that occur during the development and ageing of organisms, from the molecular level up to the entire organism and, more importantly, from both chemical and biological viewpoints.

The two-day Symposium will be filled with lectures given by outstanding speakers and short talks by selected applicants. The program will also include an exciting round table with the speakers and many poster sessions, where young scientists are encouraged to present and discuss their research. The Symposium is ultimately aimed at fostering interactions among leading scientists and young researchers from around the world.

●      Bill Keyes PhD, Centre for Genomic Regulation, Barcelona, Spain

●      Sara Annika Wickström MD PhD, Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Cologne, Germany
